This painting represents when I was figuring out my style and what felt good to paint. Below is an experience I had where a painting felt wrong and I had to fix it.

Last night I did this painting. It was actually a redo of one I did a year ago. I don't like copying other people's paintings and it doesn't feel good. So I did my own stuff on top of it and for some reason I did too many, I think I just did too many things to make it complicated and I finished it and then I just felt sick about it, but I just felt awful, it just felt so wrong that I had done these extra shapes on there.

So finally I had to get that painting and I got some extra paint and I painted over that middle front section. And I got feeling better. Why is that such a big deal?

Why are my paintings a big deal like that? Or is it that they really will mean something in the future? I don't know but it was interesting that I would be so bothered by that painting. Here's the finished part and you can see the part that I covered up still.
